Frequently Asked Questions
How does a date calculator count days between dates?
A date calculator compares two calendar dates and measures the time between them in total days. Some tools also break that difference into calendar years, months, and days for a more human-readable result.
What are business days?
Business days usually mean weekdays only, Monday through Friday. This calculator excludes Saturdays and Sundays when business day mode is enabled.
Why are months and years different from total days?
Months have different lengths, and leap years add extra days. Because of that, the exact calendar difference in years and months will not always match a simple division of total days.
Can I subtract days from a date?
Yes. Use the Add / Subtract Days mode, choose Subtract, and enter the number of days you want to go back from the starting date.
Does this calculator account for weekends when adding days?
Yes, if you turn on the business days only option. In that mode, the calculator skips Saturdays and Sundays while moving forward or backward.
